Looking for a One-Bedroom Apartment in Milwaukee? Interested in Paying Rent Based on Your Income? 

Community Advocates can help eligible tenants afford their next apartment. Tenants can apply for the Berrada Low-Income Based Rental Program to pay reduced rent on a one-bedroom unit in a Berrada Properties building. 

Available Units: 1-bedroom apartments in Berrada Properties buildings in the City of Milwaukee 

Eligibility Requirements:  
- Not a current Berrada tenant
- No current, open eviction 
- No conviction of felony or misdemeanors related to a violent offense; other convictions to be decided on a case-by-case basis

Required Documents to Bring to Apply:  
- Valid ID 
- Proof of income: 6 weeks of pay stubs if paid weekly, 3 pay stubs if paid bi-weekly, and if receiving SSI/SSDI, a current award letter

The Community Advocates Housing Team will accept the first 60 people to apply who meet the requirements and have their required documents with them. Community Advocates can make referrals to other rental housing resources at the event. 

**This program is part of the Wisconsin DOJ’s settlement with Berrada. Community Advocates was selected to administer this program for tenants who want to live in income based housing in Milwaukee.
