Empowerment Coalition of Milwaukee's 2026 Workshops
The Empowerment Coalition of Milwaukee (ECOM) is a monthly gathering that aims to bring social service professionals and advocates together. It is a networking, educational, and professional development opportunity, featuring multiple presentations from experts in the field.
Sessions are held in person from 9:30am to 12:00pm on the dates listed in the registration form below. Registrations are non-refundable and must be submitted the Friday before each workshop.
ECOM is intented for social service professionals only.
2026 ECOM Sessions
- January 21: Housing Services
- Learn about Impact 211, shelters in the Milwaukee area, rent-to-own programs, and resources and programs offered by the Department of Neighborhood Services.
- February 18: Autism and Disability Services
- Learn about respite care, special needs services, the evaluation of autism, and disability programs available.
- March 18: Legal Services
- Learn about mediation, evictions, and acessing the support of free attorneys.
- April 15: Job Services, Financial Literacy, W2, FSET
- Learn about how financial coaching can help and find support for employment planning.
- May 20: Mental Health/Behavioral Health
- Learn about youth behavioral services, adult therapy services, and family therapy.
- June 24: LGBTQ+ Services
- Learn about therapy services, navigating the healthcare system, and where drop-in services are available.
- July 15: Adoption, Foster Care, Prenatal Services, Parenting Support
- Learn about local parenting classes and support groups, where to get prenatal care services, and adoption/foster care navigation services.
- August 19: Medical Services
- Learn about pediatric, adult, and elderly services in the medical field.
- September 16: Utility Services
- Learn about weatherization, local water programs, and the Milwaukee County Energy Assistance program.
- October 21: Domestic Violence
- Learn about child abuse, elder abuse, and how to promote healthy relationships for all.
- November 18: Veteran and Reentry Services
- Learn about the impact of community support, job services available, and housing opportunities.
- December 16: Public Assistance (Virtual)
- Learn about medicaid and other insurances, SSI and SSDI, and FoodShare programs available.
