Canceled! emergency shelter intake form performed by Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra

Saturday, March 28, 2020
2:30 pm5:00 pm
North Division High School, 1011 W. Center St., Milwaukee

Due to the Coronavirus public health emergency, all emergency shelter intake form events are canceled. If new dates are rescheduled, we'll let you know. Community Advocates and our partners would like to thank the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra for their care and concern for our community.

We’re inviting you to a very special Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra performance of Gabriel Kahane’s emergency shelter intake form to highlight the importance of addressing and bringing light to challenges in our community, including homelessness, eviction, and the lack of affordable housing.

Gabriel Kahane’s oratorio-style emergency shelter intake form tells the story of becoming homeless and confronting homelessness from several angles, culminating in a performance by a choir made up of community members directly touched by homelessness, eviction, or housing insecurity.

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra is partnering with a number of nonprofits that work directly to provide both services to those affected by homelessness and to develop long-term solutions to end the pipeline to homelessness in our community. Community Advocates is honored to be one of the MSO's partners.

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, soloists, and community choir will perform emergency shelter intake form at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, at North Division High School, 1011 W. Center St., Milwaukee. A panel discussion and talk-back will follow the concert. Registration is required for this performance at the link below. The concert is free of charge with an encouraged donation to Community Advocates to support the establishment of a Rental Housing Resource Center with our partners in the coming months. You can contribute on our donation page; simply select "Rental Housing Resource Center" as the destination of your contribution.

There are a number of pre-concert events throughout the community to explore what’s being done in our city, and what remains to be done to make a greater impact. Check out the MSO's RSVP page for details and to register.
