For five decades, Community Advocates has helped build that foundation side by side with our community. Together with supporters like you, we’ve kept families in their homes, guided neighbors from crisis to stability, and opened doors to opportunity when hope seemed lost. Because of this shared commitment, thousands of people have discovered that stability is possible — and that dignity can be restored.

Every day, our team meets people at a crossroads and helps them rebuild the foundation for a stronger future, one that's built on the dignity of hope. What makes Community Advocates unique is our full continuum of housing services for individuals and families who need a steadier foundation. Our goal is not a temporary fix, but lasting independence.
As you know, the need continues to grow as more households in our community are coping with rising living costs and housing prices, coupled with declining government resources. Quite frankly, the individuals and families we serve through our Community Advocates and Milwaukee Women’s Center programs are stretched to the limit.
This perfect storm of rising need among declining resources is straining our services.
Currently, Community Advocates provides essential shelter and supportive housing to 255 adults and children every day, totaling 93,075 beds filled nightly in 2025.
