Vincent Morrow Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

Earlier this year, Community Advocates Housing Advocate Vincent Morrow received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Black Pride MKE– a well-earned recognition of his decades of dedication to uplifting his community.

Surrounded by friends, family, and peers, Vincent was celebrated for his continued commitment to advocacy and service at the Winter Lights Gala and Awards Show, an event hosted by Black Pride MKE.

Vincent Morrow is someone who inspires through words and motives through actions. He is loving, caring, and family oriented. Born and raised in the Milwaukee projects, Vincent grew up with a support system that he acknowledges not every gay individual receives. Being gay was never something he had to disclose to his inner circle – it’s simply who he is and who he has always been.

A Legacy of Advocacy and Impact

Vincent’s dedication to community work spans decades, and has made a lasting impact on Milwaukee. In 1996, alongside two friends and future business partners, he co-founded House of INFINITI, a nonprofit organization that became a critical resource for the Black gay community. Their objective was to advocate for Black gay men to come together as a body of people and focus on lifting each other up at a time when it was desperately needed.

During the 1990s, the HIV/AIDS epidemic was devastating Black communities, yet conversations about the crisis often ignored the experiences of Black gay individuals. Misinformation, stigma, systemic neglect, and a lack of accessible resources created an environment of uncertainty and fear. This is where Vincent stepped in. Through House of INFINITI, he worked tirelessly to spread awareness, provide education, and fight stigma, ensuring that Black gay men had access to life-saving information and support. His work not only helped individuals navigate a deeply challenging time but also paved the way for greater visibility and resources for future generations.

Continued Community Well-Being

Vincent’s passion for service didn’t stop there. Truly dedicated to helping people, he continues his commitment to community care today as an MPS School Based Case Manager and Housing Advocate at Community Advocates. By helping individuals and families secure stable housing and essential resources, he is ensuring people have access to the support they need.

For Vincent, it’s always been about helping people in tangible ways. In the 1990s, that meant making sure people had the right information to protect themselves and their community. Now, it means making sure people have a safe place to live. This work is an extension of his lifelong mission of creating lasting change. Being able to make an immediate difference in someone’s life by connecting them to services and resources is a rewarding way to remain connected to the community he has long served.

A Well-Deserved Honor

Vincent Morrow’s Lifetime Achievement Award is more than just a recognition of his past work—it is a testament to his enduring commitment to community empowerment. His efforts have saved lives, uplifted voices, and built a stronger foundation for those who come after him.

Congratulations, Vincent, on this incredible and well-deserved honor!
