Why We Serve
People who don’t have much often struggle with meeting their most basic needs.
If they have low-paying jobs – or no job at all – they need help with everything from keeping a roof over their heads, to keeping their children healthy, to keeping food on the table, to keeping the lights and heat on at night.
Community Advocates was founded with the vision that these people, who often lack a voice in society, need advocates on their side. They need people who will speak up for them where they are being ignored or forgotten.
This is our purpose: to be a voice for these ones without a voice.
Since its founding in 1976, Community Advocates has provided high-quality, client-centered advocacy and services to those most in need in Milwaukee. We are proud of our history and uphold our duty to treat people with compassion, dignity, and respect.
