Victims of Domestic Violence
Violence in families is not new, and it is not limited to certain kinds of families.
The issue of domestic violence stretches through the city and into the suburbs, and it touches families of every race, class, age, and religion.
Milwaukee County has only two shelters for women and children threatened by violence in their homes. Our Milwaukee Women’s Center emergency shelter is one of them.
In addition to the shelter, the Milwaukee Women’s Center runs a program called Nevermore, which works with men who have resorted to violence in their families, helping them to find other ways to express their anger and deal in a healthy way with conflicts.
The Milwaukee Women’s Center saves lives.
