\n\nYouth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents\, famil
y members\, caregivers\, teachers\, school staff\, peers\, neighbors\, hea
lth and human services workers\, and other caring citizens how to help an
adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions c
hallenge or is in crisis.\n\nThe course introduces common mental health ch
allenges for youth\, reviews typical adolescent development\, and teaches
a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-c
risis situations. \n\nTopics covered include:\n+ Anxiety\n+ Depression\n+
Substance use\n+ Disorders in which psychosis may occur\n+ Disruptive beha
vior disorders (including AD/HD)\n+ Eating disorders\n\nAll attendees a
re required to provide a $25 deposit to reserve their spot in this course.
